Traffic update: Coombe Road temporary closure
A temporary closure of Coombe Road will be in place during 2020.
Coombe Road: Monday 3 February – Friday 10 April
From 07:00 on Monday 3 February, Coombe Road will be closed in both directions and diversions will be in effect during this time. Please follow all official diversions. Roads around Coombe Road including Blagdon Hill, are not suitable for HGVs or heavy traffic.
The temporary traffic restrictions will be lifted on Friday 10 April at 18:00.
Throughout, measures will be in place to ensure that no animals are harmed or unnecessarily impacted by our activities.
When Coombe Road reopens in April 2020, a temporary 30mph speed limit and four-way traffic lights will be in place in the area around our new site access points.
The emergency services have been informed of the disruption and diversions have been put in place to facilitate the safe movement of vehicles during this time. Local schools have been notified of the closure; school buses will continue to operate using an alternative route. We would urge all parents and caregivers to plan ahead.
On behalf of National Grid and our contractors, Morgan Sindall Infrastructure, we would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused.
