South Winterbourne stream monitoring works
We're carrying out some routine environmental checks in the South Winterbourne stream
Throughout our ongoing work to put 9km of overhead cables underground, our team of environmental specialists are continuing to actively manage and monitor the landscape we’re working in.
This has included working closely with local partners and stakeholders including Dorset Council and the Environment Agency.
As part of this ongoing work, we’re carrying out some routine environmental checks in the South Winterbourne stream.
These will be taking place on Thursday 11 March 2021 and will not be disruptive to members of the public, nor will they adversely affect wildlife or the ecology of the stream.
Our team will be using a safe dye to monitor the flow of the stream, which may mean that people see fluorescent (pink or green) dye in the South Winterbourne including downstream from the Coombe Road junction.
The dye is entirely safe and its use has been approved by the Environment Agency, which is aware of the work we are undertaking.
