Traffic update: Friar Waddon and Blagdon Hill
During August and September there will be short delays lasting up to 15 minutes
During August and September there will be short delays lasting up to 15 minutes due to temporary traffic control measures on Friar Waddon Road and Blagdon Hill. We would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused.
The measures will be used up to once a day and will be timed to avoid peak traffic hours.
- There will be 7 uses of Stop/Go signs on Friar Waddon Road spread evenly throughout a three-week period between 15 August and 2 September 2022.
- There will also be 7 uses of Stop/Go signs on Blagdon Hill, again spread evenly throughout a three-week period between 12 September and 30 September 2022.
These measures facilitate the safe lowering and removal of overhead cables, a major milestone on the VIP project. This accelerates the next phase of the scheme that will see the pylons themselves removed.
We want to reassure local residents and businesses that all of the above has been agreed with Dorset Council and that we are doing all we can to minimise disruption.
If you have any questions, please get in touch with the VIP project team directly by calling 0330 134 0051 or sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
