Traffic update: Friar Waddon Road – March 2020

From Tuesday 10 March – Monday 23 March 2020 between the hours of 08:00 – 17:00, our contractors, Morgan Sindall Infrastructure, will remove trees from private land next to Friar Waddon Road. To ensure the safety of members of the public, road users and our workers we will close the road for short periods occasionally throughout the day.

We need to remove the trees so that we can build an entrance to our construction site to provide safe access for works vehicles, while keeping traffic flowing smoothly. For every tree we remove, we will be planting four new trees. Environmental surveys will be undertaken to ensure that there are no birds nesting in the trees marked for removal. There will be an independent ecologist on site to supervise these works at all times.

We want to reassure residents and businesses that we are doing all we can to minimise disruption. On behalf of National Grid and Morgan Sindall Infrastructure, we would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused.

If you have any questions about these works, please get in touch with the VIP project team directly by calling 0330 134 0051 or sending an email to
